Mitsubishi built its British reputation across several very different niches, including family cars, rugged 4 wheel drive vehicles, pickups and high performance rally derived saloons. The Shogun, L200 and Lancer Evolution created particularly strong identities, while Colt, Galant and Outlander served more conventional buyers. New car activity later contracted sharply in Britain, leaving a register whose older vehicles often survive for reasons tied to utility or enthusiast demand.
